Collection of 3D Models, Animations and other graphics created and provided for a community of industry experts

Seasonal Stories 2023 Campaign

Seasonal Stories is a collection of 3D models, animations, and graphics designed for a campaign explaining various weather phenomena. Created with forecasters in mind, the assets offer customizable tools—allowing users to adapt scenes, swap out models, and tailor content to their brand and narrative. Built as an extension of the Max-in-a-Min series, these resources were shared with a network of weather experts to support and enhance shows and content.

This explainer video was created for our weather community to help illustrate the dangers for fire during early spring.

Spring can be a high-risk season for wildfires because the stronger sun quickly dries out dead grass, leaves, and other vegetation left over from winter. With trees still bare and new growth not yet fully green, there’s plenty of dry fuel for fires to spread. Warm, windy days and low humidity add to the risk, making it easier for a small spark to ignite a larger fire.

This explainer video was created for our weather community to help illustrate the dangers of dry thunderstorms.

Dry thunderstorms are storms that produce lightning but little to no rain. The lightning can strike dry grass, trees, or brush, sparking fires, while the lack of rain means there’s nothing to help put the flames out. Gusty winds from these storms can also help fires spread quickly, making dry thunderstorms a major wildfire risk in many dry regions.

Red Flag Title Opener

Supporting data screens for the broadcast package

A Red Flag Warning is issued by weather agencies when conditions are ideal for wildfires to start and spread rapidly. It means there’s a combination of dry vegetation, strong winds, and low humidity, so people should be extra cautious with anything that could ignite a fire.

This explainer video was created for our weather community to help illustrate how temperatures effect road salt.

Winter temperatures greatly affect how road salt works. Salt lowers the freezing point of water, helping to melt ice, but it becomes less effective in very cold conditions below about 15°F (-9°C). When it’s too cold, salt can’t melt ice efficiently, so other treatments or chemicals are often needed to keep roads safe.

Seasonal Stories are multiple customizable asset packages developed to help weather experts explain a variety of seasonal weather phenomena through engaging, brand-flexible visuals. I created a wide range of 3D models, animations, and graphics designed specifically with forecasters in mind—enabling them to adapt content to their unique storytelling needs. Each "story" was built to be modular and customizable, allowing users to swap models, adjust scenes to fit their brand, and incorporate additional elements for localized or audience-specific messaging. While this project was part of the Max-in-a-Min series, it stands on its own as a flexible toolkit for broadcast meteorologists and educators, helping them create clear, visually compelling weather explainers tailored to their own voice and platform.
