Seasonal Stories 2024 Campaign
Seasonal Stories is a collection of 3D models, animations, and graphics designed for a campaign explaining various weather phenomena. Created with forecasters in mind, the assets offer customizable tools—allowing users to adapt scenes, swap out models, and tailor content to their brand and narrative. Built as an extension of the Max-in-a-Min series, these resources were shared with a network of weather experts to support and enhance shows and content.
This explainer video was created for our weather community to help illustrate what storm runoff is.
Storm runoff occurs when rainwater or melted snow flows over streets, lawns, and other surfaces instead of soaking into the ground. It can pick up pollutants along the way and carry them into local waterways, making proper management essential.
The video was built with separate elements so our customers can easily swap out trees, clouds, and backgrounds to better match their geographic location.
This explainer video was created for our weather community to help illustrate what drought is.
A drought is an extended period of unusually low rainfall that can lead to water shortages for communities, crops, and ecosystems. With less rain and snow, less water seeps into the ground to recharge underground aquifers. Over time, this lowers the water table, dries up wells, and reduces the groundwater available for drinking, irrigation, and other uses.
This explainer video was built with separate elements, allowing our customers to easily swap out 3D assets like barns and combines, as well as the sky and background, to better match their geographic location.
This explainer video was created for our weather community to help illustrate why snow does pile up on snow in the late winter.
Late-winter snow usually melts on roads because the pavement holds warmth from the sun and traffic, making it hard for snow to stick even when the air is cold.
This explainer video was built with separate elements, allowing our customers to easily swap out arrows, text and backgrounds, to better match their geographic location.
This explainer video was created for our weather community to help illustrate how insulation effects snow accumulation and ice dams.
Proper roof insulation helps keep warm air inside the house instead of escaping through the roof. When a roof is poorly insulated, heat can melt the snow on top, which then refreezes at the roof’s edge and forms ice dams. These ice dams can cause water to back up under shingles, leading to leaks and damage. Good insulation keeps the roof cold, allowing snow to stay in place and reducing the risk of ice dams.
This explainer video was designed as a multi-part story, allowing our customers to focus on specific sections or watch the full sequence. The first part covers how insulation affects heat loss, the second explains snow accumulation, and the third details how ice dams form and impact shingles.

Seasonal Stories are multiple customizable asset packages developed to help weather experts explain a variety of seasonal weather phenomena through engaging, brand-flexible visuals. I created a wide range of 3D models, animations, and graphics designed specifically with forecasters in mind—enabling them to adapt content to their unique storytelling needs. Each "story" was built to be modular and customizable, allowing users to swap models, adjust scenes to fit their brand, and incorporate additional elements for localized or audience-specific messaging. While this project was part of the Max-in-a-Min series, it stands on its own as a flexible toolkit for broadcast meteorologists and educators, helping them create clear, visually compelling weather explainers tailored to their own voice and platform. |
